Dungeness Bay

So we've lived in this great city for almost a year now and one of our favorite things to do is to look at the map of the surrounding area and find places to explore. I recently found a funny spit of land to the north, right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. I pointed it out, found a route on the map and we decided to go.

We drove to the trailhead and walked the path down to the spit.

The beauty of the area was breathtaking. The sound of the crashing waves, the smell of the cedar trees and being with the the people who mean the most to me. It was amazing.

We will go back to hike the 5 miles to the lighthouse at the end of the spit. Someday.
